Account vs. Space
An account is the top-level container. It's tied to your company/organization and covers things like billing, overall user management, and the full list of Spaces underneath it.
There's typically one account per client company, and it has an Account Admin who can view and update billing information, create new Spaces, and add, delete, or change users' permissions across the whole account.
A space is a subdivision within an account. Spaces are how you organize studies/projects for different teams, brands, or use cases within the same company.
Access and permissions are managed at this level — a Space Admin can add users, remove users, and change permission rules, but only for the Space(s) they're attached to, not the whole account.
To put it simply: an Account is the company-level container (billing + full user list), and Spaces are the folders/workspaces inside that account where studies actually live and where day-to-day access is granted. One account can have multiple Spaces, but a Space always belongs to exactly one account.
Managing access as a space admin
As a Space Admin, you can add users, remove users, and change permission rules.
Adding new users as a Space Admin
To add NEW users to your workspace:
Click into any study:
Click on the Settings cog in the bottom-left corner of your study:
From here, you can add users to the account, or you can invite a guest to the study. To add new users to the account, select Manage next to user access. To add guests to the study, select Invite next to guest access, and input their email in the invite modal.
Add the email address of the user you want to add to the account:
Then, you can add the role this particular user will be allotted, thus identifying the level of access you want the newly added user to have. Utilize the drop-down menu option.
Finally, click on the 'Invite' pane once you've entered the email address and selected the role for the user:
Resending or copying an invitation link
If you've invited a user to your Dig One account and they haven't received their invite email, you can resend the invitation or copy the invitation link to share with them directly.
Navigate to the User Menu (your initials) in the bottom left corner of the navigation pane, select Account Settings, and toggle to the Users tab.
Select the three dots menu to the right of the pending user's row.
Select Resend Invite.
Select Copy Link.
The invitation link will be copied to your clipboard automatically, so you can share it with the user directly (for example, by email or chat).
Managing user roles/permissions
At any time, you can change the user's permission levels and roles by selecting the different options available under the Manage users section:
Removing users as a Space Admin
To remove a user, click on the ellipses to the right of the particular user's name under 'Manage Users'
Then click on 'Remove':
User permissions
The Dig One platform offers 6 user types.
There should be at least one Account Admin to manage the users for your company's team. The Account Admin ensures new members are granted appropriate access, and those that have left your company are removed from accessing the platform.
Guest: These users have view-only access to the studies that you provide them access to. An admin will need to invite a user to the specific study as well.
Storyteller Guest: These users have view-only access to the Story that you provide them access to. An admin will need to invite a user to the specific Story.
Space Viewer: These users have view-only access to all study results in the Space(s). Users with this user permission will not have access to the study's Create mode.
Space Creator: These users can create, edit, delete and launch studies. They have access to all studies for the Space(s) they are attached to.
Space Admin: These users have the same permissions as Space Creators and can add and remove users in the space.
Account Admin: These are the administrators of each account. Account Admins have access to all spaces and studies in the account, as well as billing information.
