What is an Idea Split?

An Idea Split, sometimes called a monadic split, shows study participants a small set of ideas with consistent follow-up questions.

This is useful when you:

  • Have many ideas and it’s not feasible to ask questions about all ideas

  • Have a small number of ideas and want to ask the same questions about all of them

You can choose how many ideas and how many follow-up questions participants see. Try to strike a balance of number of ideas, number of questions, and question complexity to keep participants engaged.
